Why WYOS Exists
Most of us think we’re in control of our lives. We think we’re the ones making the decisions and building the lives we want. But we’ve reached a point where most of what we’re doing is just reacting to whatever’s in front of us.
The very things that are supposed to help us are now quietly holding us back.
We have access to more information and tools than at any other time in history. But having everything at your fingertips doesn't help when you can't tell what’s real or who to trust. What looks like help is usually just someone trying to get something out of you. So you end up wasting most of your time just trying to piece things together and figure out what’s worth it.
It’s almost like the environment’s working against you.
Your attention is constantly being pulled in different directions. Everything around you is being optimized to influence how you think and what you do next. And most of the ‘connections’ online now don’t even seem genuine. It doesn’t feel real.
When the entire environment is designed to keep you distracted and reacting, you aren't building your own life. You’re just being used to help someone else build theirs.
WYOS stands for Writing Your Own Story. It's a reminder that if you aren't the one deciding what your life looks like, someone else is doing it for you.
We’ve been conditioned to believe that life is something you find, not something you create. We grew up learning to look for the right answers, follow the right path, and wait for someone to tell us what to do. We were taught that if we just did what we were supposed to do, everything would work out. But looking outside yourself for answers is what keeps you stuck.
The truth is that no one’s coming to save you. If you want to build a life that’s actually yours, you have to stop waiting to be told what to do and start deciding for yourself. But modern life isn’t set up to make that easy.
